7 Reasons Your Eyeshadow Looks Bad

4. Opt for a color that flatters your iris

Here are some specific colors of eye shadow that will enhance the color of your eyes.

Blue eyes: Copper, peach and orange-based eye shadows

Brown eyes: Cobalt blue, navy, purple and indigo shades

Green eyes: Wine-tones, purples and berry hues

5. Know your shimmers, from your mattes

You need to highlight and contour your eye shadows similarly as you do with your cheekbones. Light shimmery shadows will emphasize more while the matte tones will add shadow and definition. In order to grab the attention to the iris place shimmer on the center points of your eye.  You can also go for a dark matte eye shadow to give definition to the particular area such as the socket or lash line.
