Makeup Looks Everyone Will Be Wearing This Holiday Season

Posted on

‘Tis the season to start planning your holiday look.

The winter time is one of the busiest times of the year. Holiday dinners, work festivities, and spending time with friends in the snowy and cool weather is going to take up most of your time this season. Needless to say, you’re going to want to look your best! And here are a few makeup looks that’ll help you accomplish just that:

Two-Toned Eyeshadow

A two-toned eyeshadow is easy to do! Thankfully, you don’t need to be a pro to create this look. All you need is two eyeshadow colors, some eyeliner, and mascara. Make sure you pick two colors that compliment your outfit and then layer the deepest color on the outer third of your eye. Yes, you want to layer but you want the colors to blend in the right way. Otherwise, your eyeshadow color will just look black and messy.

Soft Smokey Eye

If you’re going to rock a smokey eye this holiday season, make sure that smokey eye is soft and low key. Blend a couple subtle, maybe even nude, colors together to create the shadow. If you want, you can wear your usual smokey eye and simply skip the eyeliner and mascara so the look won’t be too intense.

Colorful Eyeliner

You’re either going to love this makeup look or hate it. Colorful eyeliner isn’t for everyone, especially if you don’t love bold makeup looks. If you do like drawing attention to your face, then you should totally rock this look! Maybe forest green, burnt orange, or cherry red — depending on your skin color. The key to this look is to pick and choose the rest of your makeup accordingly.

P.S. You don’t want to look like a clown. If you decide to opt for colorful eyeliner, make sure the rest of your look is simple.

Rosy Cheeks

Rosy cheeks? Yes, please. This flushed face look is minimal but will still make you look high-fashion. It’s no wonder you typically see models rocking this simple face. It adds definition and a brightness to your skin without making it seem like you tried too hard. Sounds like a win to me!

Nude Everything

It’s the holiday season but that doesn’t mean you can only wear red, gold, and shimmery colors. You can stick to nude-colors if that’s more your thing. All you have to do is buy a neutral color palette and use it on your cheeks, eyes, and lips. You’ll probably want to compliment this look with eyeliner (maybe winged eyeliner) and mascara!

A Statement Lip

A statement lip will never go out of style. You might as well jump on board, right? When applying your statement lipstick, use the same lipliner color. Lipliner can help you understand you lip shape better and keep the look clean. I recommend using a liner first, before applying any lipstick.

Metallic Eyeshadow

Metallic eyeshadow has been a trending makeup look for some time now and it should come as no surprise that this vibrant shadow is going to be a hot one this holiday season. Metallic eyeshadow is basically an accessory. It’s a way to accent your face, and honestly, your entire outfit!

Blush To Eyeshadow

Blush as eyeshadow isn’t just for lazy makeup lovers who don’t want to spend too much money and time on their look. It’s for anyone trying to make a statement! This monochromatic look is really alluring. If you want, you can use a highlighter around the corner of your eyes to help brighten the look and create a little dimension.

Glitter Everywhere

When you were younger glitter seemed fun. But now that you’re older, glitter seems a little LOUD…right? I completely understand. However, you don’t have to love glitter to wear it. Makeup has come a long way and there are ways you can subtly add glitter to your holiday look without going overboard. A vibrant eyeliner, a splash of blush, or even sparkle of gloss will do wonders. Try something new!

Bare Face & Glowing

I know this makeup trend might scare you. Going around with a bare face, with no makeup on, might seem like a silly idea. But think about all the money you put into your skin — all the beauty products you purchase on a monthly basis. Why mask all the hard work and money you put into your complexion with layers of makeup? Rock your natural glow to those holiday parties!

Bright, Bold Pink

Hot pink is a great color to experiment with this holiday season. But, don’t just implement this color — make it the only color you have on your face. That’s right, I’m talking about a completely bare face with a pop of pink. Maybe magenta eyeshadow or a hot pink lipstick. You’ll absolutely love this holiday look!
