- You are not setting it with eyeshadow
You can apply an eyeshadow or a bit of face powder before applying your eyeliner. This is to be done if you have oily eyelids due to which your liner does not stay in place or if you have hooded eyes.

A waterproof eye pencil is perfect for the beginners. Usually what happens is that the liners which are very smoothly applied and set does get smudged and smeared easily as compared to the waterproof liners.
